Parents' Council

Archive

The Parent’s Council was established in Sept 2002. We are a group of parents, a teacher and a Board of Management representative who meet once a term (or more frequently if required) on a very informal basis to discuss various issues. Our main objective is to make school life enjoyable for all our kids.

In the past we have been involved in a number of projects in the school, i.e. we helped introduce the school tracksuit, we arrange Santa’s visits from Lapland and we produce a school newsletter. We are represented on the Green School Committee and have organised an art project based on the Reuse, Reduce Re-cycle motto. We have arranged a number of fund raising campaigns including a fashion show, which was a huge success. We are currently in the early stages of organising another fashion show, which we hope to hold in Nov ‘06 (watch this space for further updates.) We hope to continue all of our annual projects i.e. Santa’s visits and Easter Egg raffles but in order to do this we need as many parents to help as possible so feel free to come along to any of our meetings. A new face is always welcome.

We as parents can and must play an integral role in our children’s education/school life. One way of doing this is to get involved in the various activities going on in the school, whether Parents’ Council or activities organised by the Home- School Teacher.
