ICT in our School

Our School > I.C.T.

St. Senan’s Primary School won its first computer in 1987, 8 years after the school first opened its doors. Our principal, Dr. Henry Goff, had the vision to realise the importance of technology in the everyday lives of our pupils as the school has developed a significant hardware catalogue. His leadership and encouragement is evident in the strong ethos of communication technology which has developed in our school over the last thirty years.

BT Young Scientist

The safe and productive use of our technological resources is the responsibility of every individual in the school, students and staff alike.

As an example of our commitment to using ICT in our classrooms, our two Sixth Classes designed a survey of energy use in the home in Microsoft Word. The findings formed the basis of a PowerPoint presentation and a documentary which was displayed at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in the R.D.S. on 12 January 2007. Additionally we used ICT as a means of sharing memories of past musicals with parents and friends by presenting a PowerPoint presentation of images from shows performed in our school over the last thirty years.
