Green Interview

Activities > Green-Schools > Flag 1 - Waste Management

First class B interviewed Mrs McCauley, who is a member our Green-Schools Committee, about all the strategies our school has in place to care for our school and our environment.

Through our interview with Mrs McCauley first class B learned that we can recycle bottles, batteries, old mobile phones, greeting cards and stamps through our school. A member of the green school committee collects these items from our classroom every Wednesday for recycling.

First class B learned that it is very important that every single one of us take part in keeping our classroom, playground and our surrounding areas neat and clean. We now immediately pick up any rubbish we see in our playground, our school and our surrounding areas and put it in the bin.

First class B are very good at putting pencil sharpens, apple cores and banana skins into our compost bin. We recycle any left over paper by putting it in the blue bin in our classroom.

We all had great fun drawing a picture of all the ways in which our school and everyone in our school helps to care for our environment.
