The football season kicked off with training at lunchtimes in September. The Rackard League Competition began during the third week of September. The girls played two matches weekly. They beat Oulart, Marshalstown, Oylegate, Coolcots and Gaelscoil Inis Corthaidh to qualify for the District Final. They collected the District Cup and winners' medals when they won a very exciting final against Oylegate. Well done girls! Training continued in preparation for the county semi-final. Craanford proved to be very skillful opposition but the St.Senan's girls won and earned their place in the school's first Girls' Football County Final. All roads led to St.Patrick's Park, Enniscorthy on Thursday 9th November. St. Aidan's School were the opposition. The match had all the ingredients of a great final, with supporters, flags, excitement and two very talented teams. Every girl on the panel did her very best to help St. Senan's win but it was St. Aidan's who claimed the cup in the end. The school is really proud of the way the girls represented themselves ,their families and their school throughout the competition. The District Final cup takes pride of place in our trophy press. Thank you girls and remember you'll continue to achieve success in life if you all just continue being you. (Miss Barron)
