Girls in Action 2

Girls from 5th and 6th classes sprung into action in September 05 with training for the Rackard League Football Competition. This is our second year being involved in the competition. We won some matches, the girls’ football skills improved and they enjoyed participating.
At the moment girls from 4th, 5th and 6th classes are competing in the Rackard League Camogie Competition.
Girls from the 2nd and 3rd classes are at lunchtimes developing their football and kickboxing skills.
Over 100 girls in total participated in Kickboxing Classes. These classes took place on Tuesdays at lunchtime. They improved all participants’ fitness levels and the girls thoroughly enjoyed them.
Free Sports Equipment
The school began collecting Super Valu Sports Vouchers on Monday 16th January. The children of class 4B counted the vouchers. The total number of vouchers collected was 44,701.
We have been able to order a wide variety of sports equipment which will be useful for all. Equipment is due to be delivered between May and June ‘06.
