Saving energy is our school’s aim in working towards our second Green Flag. Mrs. Morris from the Green School Committee organised a competition inviting children from 2nd to 6th class to write a slogan which will be used as a reminder to us all and placed near switches and sockets in the entire classroom.

There were 93 entries submitted. All were assessed and deemed to be of a very high standard and 10 were eventually chosen to be judged by a sub-committee of the Green School committee. After much consideration and negotiation the 10 entries were narrowed down to 2.The lucky winners were announced by Mr. Goff at morning assembly on 23rd November 2006.
The winning slogans were:

“Think before u switch”
by Ciara Fanning 6A.

“Turn off the light it won’t bite”
by Ivo Silva 5B.

A copy of each slogan has been placed in every classroom in the school.
